John P. Hadjipateras joined the company in 1996 after spending time at sea and becoming a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. In the year 2000, John P. became Chartering Executive, having taken over from his predecessor of 37 years.
Over the years John P. has held the position of Deputy to the Operations Executive, Insurance Manager and Commercial Manager. He became Safety Committee Secretary in 1998, Company Secretary in 2002 and later joined the Board of Directors in 2010.
During his time with the company, John P. has forged strong relationships with many leading broking houses and several major charterers. John P. has earned a reputation of trust and honesty in his personal approach to negotiating charterparties.
John P. has successfully negotiated several MOAs, as well as three newbuilding projects in Japan and South Korea, all directly with the shipyards. This includes arranging pre-delivery finance, as well as dealing with restructuring and tripartite agreements, whilst overseeing the legal aspects involved in completing these projects.
John P. has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, is a Representative of the Baltic Exchange and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
